|PT Inspection||Performed using visible or fluorescent dye to flaws open to the surface. PT can be
used on both non-ferrous and ferrous metals.
|MT Inspection||Detects surface and subsurface discontinuities in ferrous materials by applying a magnetic field and ferromagnetic powder.|
|VT Inspection||Most commonly used NDT method. Requires minimal equipment and complete access to facilitate inspection.|
|UT Inspection||Volumetric inspection method using ultrasonic waves. Requires direct contact with inspection area and can be done using straight beam, shear wave, or as thickness measurements.|
|RT Inspection||Volumetric inspection method using radiation. WTTI’s enclosed X-ray cabinet is 44” deep x 51” wide x 56’’ high. Steel specimens up to 3” thick and aluminum specimens up to 12” thick can be examined. WTTI can produce film or digital x-ray images.|
